Remove a distracting overlay and get scrolling again
A newsletter invitation can cover the article you came to read. A floating promotion can follow every scroll. PopupDestroyer changes the loaded page so you can deal with these interruptions, with Undo available if you hide too much.
Start with the main obstruction
Open the toolbar button on the affected website and choose Remove overlays. The default profile looks for large fixed panels in front of the page. It avoids common login, payment and cookie-consent containers. It cannot retrieve material the server has not sent.
Choose an element when the first pass misses
Use Choose element, move over the distraction, and click the highlighted area. Press Escape to cancel. Select the surrounding panel if hiding its heading or button would leave the rest in place. The change belongs to this page visit unless you save it.
Try the broader profile when needed
Open Site rules & removal profile and select Also the distractions to include recognizable floating promotions and video panels. Use Undo if a useful part of the page disappears. A profile is a set of layout checks, so results vary between websites.
Check scrolling and use Undo
After a removal, the extension restores common scroll locks when no visible modal remains. Undo puts back the changed element and inline scroll styles. It also pauses remembered rules for the current visit. Reloading starts a new visit.
Remember only recurring distractions
After removing or choosing an element, use Remember on this website. Chrome requests access to that specific website. A saved selector hides matching elements on future loads. Review Your saved rules and remove any rule that starts hiding useful content.
