Block ads without breaking the sites you use
A useful blocker should make everyday browsing easier. When a filter interferes with a checkout, a video player or another page feature, a small adjustment is usually more helpful than changing every setting at once.

Start with Balanced protection
Aegis starts in Balanced, with network filtering and targeted cosmetic filtering. Essential keeps network filtering with fewer page changes. Aggressive adds more cosmetic and annoyance lists; it can also require more site-specific adjustments.
Pause one site when it needs an exception
Use the toolbar power control for the current site, or add its hostname in Trusted websites. The exclusion covers that hostname and its subdomains. Protection presets preserve ordinary local exceptions, although managed-browser policy can override them.
Reload deliberately and check the result
Aegis shows a reload notice after configuration changes. Reload when you are ready, then try the page feature again. The network request count is a snapshot and does not include every element hidden cosmetically.
Hide a distraction you can identify
Use the element picker for an unwanted page element and the unpicker to remove a saved rule. Be careful with containers that also hold useful page content. An individual site can change its layout later, so saved selectors may need review.
Try it with Aegis.
Block ads, trackers and unwanted page elements with protection you can adjust for each website.
